Nice to meet you!

This is my home team! I’m a mom of three, not including the dog, and we’re constantly navigating how educational environments impact our day-to-day. Well before I had this crew though, I started teaching as a third grade self-contained special education teacher in East Harlem via NYC Teaching Fellows. Fast forward through the next decade—teaching in a range of settings, moving into the growing charter world, becoming a special education leader and assistant principal at Uncommon Schools—and all of a sudden I was building innovative programs for preparing new special education teachers, including brand new NYC Teaching Fellows.

In my ten years at the Relay Graduate School of Education, I worked with educators all across the country, across all content areas PK-12 and all leadership levels, and got deep into the weeds of educator preparation, program design, talent pipelines and organizational leadership. In 2020, I stepped away from my leadership role at RGSE to pursue independent consulting and haven’t looked back. In my time as a consultant, I’ve worked with brand new charter start-ups, presented in front of state boards of education, led coalitions to shape change, helped leaders figure out creative staffing models, uncovered—and addressed!—huge budget issues and more. Along the way I’ve discovered that I genuinely love problem-solving and wayfinding. I like contributing to meaningful solutions and helping leaders feel they have someone in their corner.

This I believe...

  • Human variability is what makes us strong

  • All humans deserve to be treated with dignity

  • Belief outperforms shame and blame every time

  • True collaboration and partnership is magic

With hope & gratitude,

Superpowers

We all have strengths, but we’re not always in environments that give us the opportunity to shine. I have a few core competencies that I leverage to drive impact. I love learning what other people are good at, and working with people who have complementary strengths.

Synthesis

Need to brain dump a whole bunch of context that feels disconnected and disorganized? I’m good at making sense of it and synthesizing information into a set of facts that everyone can align on.

Project Management

Spreadsheets are my love language. I can get a project up and running—vision, timeline, action plan, roles/responsibilities, communication systems—in warp speed.

Facilitation

Bringing together groups of stakeholders, with diverse opinions, to get on the same page, make decisions and align on a plan is thrilling. I’m equally comfortable leading training sessions for hundreds of leaders at a time. .

Building Context & Rapport

Drop me into a meeting with little-to-no context, and I can find my bearings quickly. I’m good at establishing rapport and asking strategic questions.

Decision-Making

I actually love making decisions. Once I have enough context, I can help your team refine the criteria for decision-making, and then carefully track all possible solutions against those criteria so you have a robust rationale for your choices.

Resource & Tool Development

Rubrics and frameworks and 1-pagers, oh my! I love creating tools that build clarity and codify smart systems.
